Edible oils and butter. In the glass decanters is olive oil (right) obtained from pressed olives, and sunflower oil (centre) obtained from sunflower seeds. Both of these oils & the butter are common ingredients in food recipes & are used in cooking. They are all sources of fats known to affect blood cholesterol which plays a role in heart disease. Butter contains both the saturated & unsaturated fats which may contribute to cardiovascular disease; while olive oil (monounsaturated) and sunflower oil (polyunsaturated) are healthier in containing a low percentage of saturated fats.
